Who operates EffectSite

EffectSite is an independent educational question-bank project operated in Australia. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by an examination college or professional body. Privacy enquiries and complaints can be sent to ben@effectsite.com.

Information collected

• Account information: email address, display name, confirmation and sign-in timestamps, and acceptance of the site terms.
• Study information: answers, scores, confidence ratings, practice sessions, flags and private notes.
• Feedback: correction suggestions and messages you choose to submit.
• Technical information: security, availability and aggregate usage information produced by Supabase and Cloudflare when the service is used.

EffectSite does not ask for patient information. Do not place identifiable patient details or other sensitive clinical information in notes or correction reports.

Why it is used

Information is used only to provide and secure your account, synchronise study activity across devices, display your results, review submitted corrections, maintain backups, diagnose faults and improve the question bank. EffectSite does not sell personal information or use it for third-party advertising.

Where it is handled

Supabase provides authentication and database hosting. Cloudflare provides website hosting, security and aggregate analytics. Encrypted backups are retained through GitHub Actions. These providers may process information outside Australia under their own security and privacy arrangements.

Storage and retention

Your browser stores an authentication session so you remain signed in. Live account and study data is kept while your account exists. If you delete your account, its live profile, results, notes, flags and reports are removed. Encrypted backup copies expire within 30 days. Operational and security logs may remain for the shorter periods applied by the hosting providers.

Your choices

From the Account page you can correct your display name, change your password, download your data, reset only your results, or permanently delete the whole account. You may also email ben@effectsite.com to request access, correction or help with deletion.

Security and complaints

EffectSite uses row-level database controls, encrypted transport, restricted administrator tools, automated monitoring and encrypted backups. No online service can promise absolute security. If you believe your information has been mishandled, email the address above with enough detail to investigate; the concern will be acknowledged and reviewed as promptly as practical.
